Welcome to The Cross Keys

The Cross Keys is a 17th-century pub, situated between Wrexham and Mold on the Offas Dyke, with open fires and a real oldy worldy atmosphere with lots to offer.

Let us start with our real ales which change regularly, offering locally brewed and national ales. We hold a modest range of bottled ciders and European beers to compliment the draught varieties.

We now stock in excess of 40 whiskeys but also have a range of rare and collectable whiskies that are available by the bottle for the enthusiast.

The Cross Keys bar and restaurant menu has something for every palate: steak, salad, homemade burgers, curries and fresh fish. We have a folk night on a Tuesday where you are welcome to come along and listen to the many artists or bring along a guitar and a bit of courage and have a go yourself. Also on a Tuesday is our quiz and rollover jackpot.  See the What’s On guide for more details.

If you enjoy walking, The Cross Keys is a fantastic starting point with views of the surrounding countryside. We are highlighted in Flintshire County Council’s booklet “Rural walks in Flintshire” as a starting point. The council cannot bias one pub but we know that the real reason is that you also have to finish here. If you are likely to finish your walk outside of our usual opening times, let us know before you leave and we will do our best to open for refreshments on your return. We are soon to install boot cleaning facilities for those that want a quick drink with no time to change.

For cyclists, we are a great place to stop on that grueling hill treck. If you enjoy mountain biking, we are only 5 miles from Coed Llandegla Forest’s mountain bike centre www.oneplanetadventure.com.  We are soon to install bike locks.
